Dynamic cell culture

Lisa Muiznieks, Research Engineer, presents dynamic cell culture.
“Forces are abundant in the body and act on cells and tissues across all lengths scales. Cells cultured on traditional culture plastic are not exposed to these important mechanical stimuli. Here we introduce the concept of dynamic cell culture by incorporating perfusion, and describe the benefits of fluid flow, mechanical tension and shear stress to in vitro cell models of physiology and disease.”
